Reaching Out, Pieces Brought Together

On Healing

Page 3

Desire is at the root of healing. Our will is a source of the bringing together of the broken pieces of our lives. We cannot cling to attachments willfully or use them for social currency, and receive soul healing.

So, what do we do? We, like the woman, reach out to touch the Divine. The meeting of the Love of God and our will to enjoy wholeness coalesces for healing.

How do we reach out to touch healing Grace? We can in many ways. This can include: mental help, medication, and medical assistance. Religiously, this can entail religious-spiritual practices of devotion that express and grow a desire for God and to be more whole persons. Included in devotional acts is service to others in God's name - not to get credit.

Oddly, for spiritual healing, we need to do some things that help us get out of the center of our lives. Indeed, our lack of wholeness spiritually is a result of and manifestation of our self-centeredness, mostly.

Notice the woman did not go to Jesus to complain of her illness or to blame anyone else for a lack of cure. She went for one thing: to reach out to know wholeness, once more.

Remember, "healing" and "cure" are not the same. Cure is a resolution of injury or loss. Sometimes, we are not freed from a hurt or loss. However, healing can come in wisdom to understand its benefit to others or us, or in strength to live gracefully with the injury or loss.

QUIETLY RESPONDING

1) Go into Silence prayerfully. Open yourself to listen to Spirit to show you any lack of wholeness in yourself spiritually. If you discern something, seek to receive how you lost that part of your self. Pray for healing in that specific area. If the fracture of soul was the result of being hurt by someone, pray for help to forgive. Vital it is for the release of the person who hurt you, if you wish to be free of the hurt.

2) Also, seek to discern if you are holding on to some loss, some injury, for power. This could be power over a person who hurt you or for attention you get from persons who know of your injury.

3) Do you sense there is a hurt or loss you are are called to live with for a spiritual purpose? What is that? How might you consecrate it for Good?
